Even though I spent six years working on the computer systems that keep our operations running, it completely slipped my mind that we had major corporate and service buildings right here in Muscle Shoals! I knew I couldn't pass by without stopping to capture photos in front of the key administrative and technical footprints I support.

The skilled trade shops, customer service centers, multipurpose buildings, and power service centers located on the Wilson Reservation are legendary within OUR COMPANY. They aren't just local maintenance garages; they function as elite, heavy-industrial surgical units for the entire multi-state grid. When massive hydro turbines, transformers, or generators need overhaul, this is where the heavy magic happens.

The history of this reservation is mind-blowing. When construction on Wilson Dam first began in 1918 under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the entire reservation area was engineered as a literal self-sustaining city:

Peak Population: Over 18,000 workers lived directly on site.Infrastructure: Included 1,700 temporary and permanent buildings, 185 residential units, its own dedicated hospital, a school for 850 students, and mess halls serving over 20,000 meals every single day! Many of the modern service shops and administrative footprints used by our crews today evolved directly from those foundational World War I defense operations.
