Caledonia

I love this site - if only for the song that constantly plays in my head every single time I say the name 'Caledonia'! Rolling up to this beautiful combined-cycle facility on a bright Tuesday afternoon was an absolute highlight.

While the physical configuration of the plant represents a standard combined-cycle layout, the thing that immediately struck me was just how incredibly clean the entire facility was. From the front gates to the turbine buildings and perimeter fences, everything was spotless.

You can tell instantly when a plant crew takes true personal pride in their facility. The workers at Caledonia clearly care about their site, and it shows in every single detail.

Caledonia was originally built and operated by Cogentrix Energy before being purchased by our enterprise. And the story at Caledonia isn't finished yet, there is currently a 'New Caledonia' project in the works just down the road! It will feature gas-powered, quick-start peaking units.

Grid Outlook: As Tim 'The Tool Man' Taylor would say... MORE POWER! Mississippi and Western Alabama grid customers will definitely benefit from the added capacity and rapid response times.
