Boone Dam was the first power production site visit of the trip. Primarily because it was down the road from the hotel I was staying. It offered the first short ride with the minimum baggage and it was so freeing! Boone Dam, yes you are thinking it, Daniel Boone one and the same. Built in 1950’s and restored in the early 2010’s I found Boone to be a peaceful quaint site. I’ve learned every dam tends to have a turbine out for people to see. Boone was no exception. Though this one could use some good old fashion elbow grease and a hard bristled brush scraping off the rust. Though after dumping hundreds of millions of dollars re constructing the dam, I doubt a cleanup on isle 10 was in the plans. J
